If you’re dreaming of a romantic outdoor wedding in Kansas City, Countryside Chalet is a venue that brings charm, elegance, and warmth all in one place. I recently had the honor of photographing Kaitlyn and Ethan’s stunning summer wedding here, and every corner of this venue was a perfect backdrop for their love story. From the cozy getting-ready spaces to the picturesque outdoor ceremony site and spacious reception hall, Countryside Chalet creates a magical experience for couples and their guests alike.
In this post, I’m sharing highlights from Kaitlyn and Ethan’s day, along with tips for making the most of this beautiful Kansas City wedding venue. Whether you’re newly engaged or just starting your venue search, you’ll fall in love with everything Countryside Chalet has to offer.
Tucked away in the woods just outside Kansas City, Countryside Chalet is a secluded wedding venue brimming with charm and character. Originally designed as a rental venue, the property has been thoughtfully transformed into a stunning setting for weddings.
The day begins in the vintage-style house, where couples can get ready surrounded by unique, antique furniture and the timeless beauty of a wraparound porch—perfect for quiet, candid moments before the ceremony. The chalet is also available for overnight stays. The lush, green grounds are equally captivating, with open fields ideal for golden-hour portraits and a quaint garden area that adds an extra touch of romance.
The ceremony space sits atop a gentle hill, creating a natural auditorium feel. The seating design offers guests unobstructed views as they watch couples exchange vows with the serene countryside as their backdrop. Just up the hill, and across from the house, the reception hall awaits – a spacious and inviting space for dining and dancing. With its side patio, it’s the perfect spot for a laid-back cocktail hour under the open sky.
Countryside Chalet effortlessly combines seclusion, vintage charm, and natural beauty, making it a dream venue for couples who want a wedding that feels both intimate and grand.
Kaitlyn and Ethan’s wedding at Countryside Chalet was nothing short of magical. The day started in the Chalet, where the couple and their wedding party got ready. It was a hot summer day, so the nice shaded garden quickly became the favorite spot for all the activities including the first look, a few bride and groom portraits, and wedding party photos. Ethan’s reaction seeing Kaitlyn for the first time was unforgettable!
Kaitlyn and Ethan had the best crew of people around them! Their wedding party photos are some of my favorite, and these summer pastels will forever have my heart!
The outdoor ceremony took place on the hill, with the natural auditorium-style seating offering stunning views of the couple. My absolute favorite thing about this beautiful and simple ceremony was the way they styled their wedding arch with hanging florals. It was a breezy day, and the stringed florals swayed back and forth creating such a unique backdrop for Kaitlyn and Ethan. The setting felt intimate and serene, as sunlight poured through the trees, creating the dreamiest backdrop.
The celebration continued up the hill in the reception hall. Kaitlyn + Ethan’s guests enjoyed a relaxed cocktail hour on the side patio before heading inside for dinner, toasts, and dancing.
If I can recommend one thing to all of my couples, it’s to make time for sunset photos! Golden hour truly has the most beautiful light that will compliment you in photos. You can plan just a few minutes away while your guests finish eating dinner, or if your schedule allows it we can have a full hour to create magic! Believe it or not, a lot of couples forget to plan time for each other in their wedding day. But I’m here to remind you that this day is not for anyone else – just the two of you! You will be so glad you set aside this time, even if it’s just a few minutes.
Kaitlyn and Ethan’s wedding day was the perfect blend of elegance, romance, and laid-back charm—everything Countryside Chalet has to offer. If you’re planning a wedding at Countryside Chalet, I’d love to capture your day! Reach out on my contact page to book your dream photographer.
