About the Couple
From the moment Hope first reached out, I could tell their love story was something special. They’re the kind of couple who brings their full hearts to everything—whether it’s adopting a puppy, moving across the state together, or planning the wedding of their dreams. Hope told me she knew Kyle was the one when her cat (who’s scared of everyone!) walked right up to him asking for attention. And honestly? That quiet kind of knowing was woven into every part of their wedding day.
With family as a central part of their lives, it was only fitting that their celebration was filled with meaningful moments shared with their closest loved ones.

A Real Wedding Day at the Ridge Wedding and Event Venue in Kansas City
Hope and Kyle’s wedding day was full of emotion, intention, and so much love from the people closest to them. From the very beginning of the day, there was this calm, grounded energy that made everything feel incredibly genuine. Like everyone was exactly where they were supposed to be.
They got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family in the most beautiful getting ready suites. Hope was radiant in her gown. And you could see how much love and support surrounded her as she slipped into her dress. The couple’s first look inside the venue was one of our favorite parts of the day. Hope descended the grand staircase, and the moment they saw each other, everything else faded into the background. It was just them—eyes locked, holding back tears, soaking in the moment they’d been dreaming about. Their private vow reading had even their photo and video team crying.

And, of course, we had to get a few photos with their sweet puppy – Skylar.

Ceremonies at The Ridge Wedding Venue
The ceremony took place on the venue’s hilltop, with wide-open views of Missouri’s countryside stretching in every direction. And Kyle + Hope excited everyone with a beautiful dip kiss back down the aisle! After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we snuck away for sunset portraits across the venue’s open fields. This is one of my favorite parts of the day as a Kansas City wedding photographer. Getting to document those in-between moments where couples can finally breathe, be themselves, and soak in the magic of their day.

The Ridge wedding venue truly shines during golden hour, and Hope and Kyle timed it perfectly. As the sun dipped lower, the light turned soft and golden, casting the entire venue in the warmest glow. They allowed for so much time on their wedding day for photo opportunities for just the two of them. The Ridge has so many unique places to take your photos on your wedding day. We had so much fun exploring!

The evening continued with a joyful reception in the beautifully designed event space. Our absolute favorite part of the day was Hope and Kyle’s choreographed first dance! Toasts were heartfelt, the dance floor stayed full, and you could feel how deeply Hope and Kyle are loved. Every part of their day reflected who they are as a couple—family-oriented, full of heart, and completely in sync.
