Certain locations require specific fees and/or permits required by the park/venue to shoot there. When booking a session with me, the fees are paid by you, the client. But don’t worry – I’ll help secure any permits for our session and fill out any needed forms!
Shawnee Mission Park is located in Shawnee, KS. It’s a large park with tons of diverse scenery – including trees, fields, ponds, bridges, and a creek. There’s even wildflowers in summer and fall and blooming trees in the spring. All in all, it’s a go-to location where most of our sessions take place.

If you’re looking for an elevated look with cityscapes, this one is for you! The beautiful white stone is sure to bring out the luxury vibes, and there’s the most beautiful view of downtown KC! You can see union station and the famous Western Auto Sign!

One of Kansas City’s most beautiful parks is Loose Park. The rose garden typically blooms from May-June, and in early Spring there are tons of beautiful white flowers and blooming trees for a short time. The rest of the grounds are full of beautiful wildlife, bridges, ponds, and gorgeous reds and oranges in the Fall.
**As of July 2020, Loose Park now requires a $25 permit in order to have photos professionally taken there.

If you love historical, industrial, and urban vibes – this spot is for you! West Bottoms is full of beautiful brick buildings and architecture, including the very popular 12th street bridge.

Fall is our favorite time of year at Weston Bend State Park! But this spot is just as beautiful during the rest of the year. Like any state park there’s tons of trees and fields, as well as trails. There’s also a historic rustic barn in one location.

Woods-Sinnet Family
One of our favorite spots is Smithville Lake. Anytime during the year this location is perfect for any portrait session. It offers a ton of variety with numerous locations surrounding the lake. Sandy beaches, rocks by the dam, trees, tall grass, wildflowers and gorgeous sunsets or sunrises. It truly has it all.

Located in Northland Liberty area. There’s a beautiful bridge and several walking trails. This location is perfect for families.

A family owned greenhouse in the heart of Kansas City. Sessions are held here by appointment only. The space is snug, so I recommend no more than 4-5 people. Perfect for senior sessions, maternity photos, branding, engagements, etc.
They do require a fee of $100.

One of Kansas City’s most famous historical landmarks. Be mindful of when you schedule your session here. Certain events and times of year make Union Station incredibly busy and full of crowds of people.

Colorado or PNW vibes can be found in Burr Oak Woods! These gorgeous pine trees are the most incredible thing tucked away in a Blue Springs Conservation area. This area has changed over the years several times requiring permits and fees. So be sure to check their website often for updates!
As of July 1, 2023: Commercial photography permits and commercial videography permits are no longer required for commercial photography/videography on MDC areas. Instead, a no-cost* special use permit is required in some cases.
